Hemingway Hotel Cuba

Gran Meliá Shanghai Hotel - opened December 2009 in partnership with Cuba and China.

The Hemingway Hotel, a 650-room luxury hotel planned in a partnership with China and Cuba, is scheduled to begin construction this fall, reportedly November, at the Marina Hemingway, 9 miles east of Havana.

Cost for this major tourist development has been reported to be $150 million. The project is owned 51% by the Cuban government's Cubanacan hotel group and 49% by China's Suntine International-Economic Tradition Company.

This is not the first project for the partnership. In December 2009, Gran Meliá Shanghai Hotel opened in China.
